1 arrested, police uncover stolen vehicle in Colorado Springs
One man has been arrested after police discovered him inside a stolen vehicle Thursday evening, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.
Police said at 8:45 p.m., officers received reports of a man passed out behind the wheel of a car near the 2800 block of East Pikes Peak Avenue.
As officers went to make contact with the person, the man backed the vehicle into a police cruiser, causing minor damage, officials said.
According to police, initial investigative efforts unveiled the vehicle to have fictitious plates, and officers were able to determine the vehicle had been stolen.
Additionally, officers discovered narcotics along with other drug paraphernalia in the possession of the driver, who has since been identified as Kenyon Thomas.
Thomas has been booked at the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.
