Child injured in hit-and-run crash in Colorado Springs
A child was struck by a motorist in a hit and run traffic crash early Thursday morning, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.
Just before 8 a.m. Thursday morning, police received reports of a auto-pedestrian crash near the intersection of Murray Blvd. and East Pikes Peak Avenue.
Officials said early investigative efforts unveiled that the 11-year-old victim had been struck while walking inside of a crosswalk.
According to police, the driver fled the scene of the crash.
The child was transported to a nearby children’s hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.
A suspect vehicle description has not been released at this time.
