Colorado Springs mom arrested in connection with death of 4-year-old child
Colorado Springs police recently arrested a woman they believe is responsible for the 2022 death of her 4-year-old child.
Raven Rudd, 25, was taken into custody Friday, police said in a Monday news release. Rudd faces a felony charge of reckless child abuse resulting in death.
On Nov. 30, 2022, the anti-child abuse unit was informed of a deceased child who had been taken to a hospital by a mother and her boyfriend after “being found unresponsive” at their home, police said.
After an autopsy, the El Paso County Coroner’s Office ruled the child’s death to be a homicide.
Several months of investigation led detectives to obtain an arrest warrant for Rudd. She was arrested and booked without incident, police said.
The investigation is still open, and anyone with potential information is asked to call the Colorado Springs Police Department at (719) 444-7000. Callers who wish to remain anonymous may contact the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at (719) 634-STOP (7867) or 1-800-222-8477.
Raven Rudd.
