2 dead in Cañon City shooting
A shooting in Cañon City left two people dead, according to a news release Friday from the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office said that at about 5 a.m. Friday, deputies received reports of shots fired at a residence at 1600 Locust St., on the southeast side of town.
Deputies along with officers from the Cañon City Police Department found two people with gunshot wounds inside the home. They were both pronounced dead.
The Sheriff’s Office said it has detained several people for questioning, but no arrests have been made.
Identities of the victims have not been released.
