Colorado Springs Weather: Mild throughout the week with snow at higher elevations

Weather in the Colorado Springs area is expected to be partially sunny with a high near 44 according to the National Weather Service in Pueblo.

A calm wind will be present with a speed of up to 5 mph, becoming south-southeast around 5 p.m. in the afternoon.

Some light snow will be possible over the central mountains, especially Sunday afternoon and very early Sunday evening. Accumulations will be light, generally and inch or two at most.

A weather system will move through the southern Rockies Thursday and Friday, bringing snowfall to the mountains, and scattered rain and snow showers to lower elevations. Accumulating snow will be possible, especially over the eastern San Juans and southern Sangre de Cristo Range.

Monday (New Year’s Day):  Mostly sunny, with a high near 50. West northwest wind around 5 mph becoming south southwest in the afternoon.

Tuesday:  Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 46. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south southeast in the afternoon.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 47. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south southeast in the morning.

Thursday:  Partly sunny, with a high near 48. North wind around 10 mph.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 38. North wind around 15 mph.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 45. West wind 10 to 15 mph.
