A Colorado Springs high school employee has been arrested following accusations of an alleged sexual relationship with a minor, the Colorado Springs Police Department said on Friday. 

Police said that an investigation was launched on Dec. 15 into reports that 48-year-old Marco Laura had allegedly committed sexual assault of a child by one in a position of trust.

According to police, Lara is currently an employee at Cheyenne Mountain High School in District 12.

Investigators say Lara had engaged in a sexual relationship with a minor, resulting in his arrest on Dec. 28. 

According to officials, Lara is facing charges of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust and aggravated incest. It is unclear if the victim was a student at Cheyenne Mountain High School, but investigators believe there may be additional victims.
