Bear euthanized after being hit by vehicle on I-25 in Colorado Springs Monday

A bear was euthanized after being hit by a car on Interstate 25 in Colorado Springs Monday, KKTV reports.

At about 12:30 p.m., the bear, which appeared to be a cub, was spotted on I-25 near the Woodmen exit on the northbound side of the highway.

First responders helped get the bear off the highway at about 12:35 p.m. Video captured by city traffic cameras and shared by KKTV showed cars coming to a complete stop on the interstate as multiple people worked to get the bear to safety. 

Colorado Parks and Wildlife made the decision to euthanize the bear based on the severity of its injuries, KKTV reported.
