On Jan. 14, the Monument Hill Kiwanis Club delivered a check of $35,889 as part of its Red Kettle donations to The Salvation Army, an annual campaign that benefits programs across the El Paso County. The check represents donations from the Tri-Lakes community during a campaign that saw Kiwanis club members ring the bell at Walmart and King Soopers stories in Monument. They were assisted by Kiwanis Key Clubs from Lewis-Palmer and Palmer Ridge high school, Scout Troop 17, Woodmen Valley Chapel, Tri-Lakes Women’s Club and others. They rang the bell three days a week from Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve.
