Colorado Springs Movers & Shakers

Joan Shields, Dave Miller, Michael Budler, Doug Palmer, Elizabeth Hoffner and Dakota “Cody” Hurst have been promoted to new roles by El Pomar Foundation of Colorado Springs. Shields was promoted from vice president to senior vice president of leadership and director of the foundation’s fellowship program. Miller was promoted from associate vice president to vice president of information technology. Budler was promoted from maintenance technician to caretaker of the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun. Palmer was promoted from a fellow to deputy director of regional partnerships. Hoffner was promoted from a fellow to deputy director of the fellowship program. Hurst was promoted from part-time to full-time assistant at the shrine.

Jason Janc has been appointed general manager of KILO-FM and KRXP-FM in Colorado Springs by station owner Bahakel Communications. Janc started his broadcasting career in 1988 as a college student in Minnesota and Illinois. He worked at stations in Illinois as assistant production director and announcer. He joined KILO in 1998 as an announcer and later became program director and announcer at what is now KRXP. Janc has been with Colorado Publishing Co. since 2011, most recently as advertising director.

Zuleika Johnson and Tad Goodenbour have been named trustees of the Pikes Peak Community Foundation in Colorado Springs. Johnson is senior vice president of opportunity and outreach for El Pomar Foundation. Goodenbour is a partner at the BKD accounting firm.

Greg Phillips, director of the Colorado Springs Airport, has been named Airport Executive of the Year by the Northwest Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives. He was recognized for the Colorado Springs Airport’s selection as Airport of the Year by the Colorado Department of Transportation, overseeing a 43% growth in air service during the past three years and development of a 3.7 million-square-foot Amazon fulfillment center in the airport’s Peak Innovation Park.

Colorado Springs Movers & Shakers

Christopher Gould, senior vice president of national program development and ministry relations for Salem Media Group, will move to Colorado Springs and also serve as general manager of 102.7 (KBIQ-FM), 100.7 (KGFT-FM), and 1460/101.1 (KZNT-AM/FM). Gould has been with Salem for nearly two decades, initially running Salem’s stations in Tampa, Fla., before he was promoted in 2011 to vice president of national program development. He was named to his current post in 2018.

Kathy Reak, Dina Worthen, Cheryl McCullough, Holly Taylor, Sarah Price and Melissa Williams have been promoted to new positions at Visit Colorado Springs. Reak became vice president of sales, replacing Pam Sherfesse, who retired. Reak joined the nonprofit in 1997. Worthen was promoted to senior sales manager. McCullough was named senior director of sports and events. Taylor was appointed group servicing manager. Price became group sales administrator. Williams was promoted to director of marketing.

Nancy Hartsfield and Michael Longo have joined Legend of Colorado Springs, an assisted living and memory care center in the Briargate area. Hartsfield is health care director and had been a nurse navigator and marketing liaison for Bridges Home Care. Longo is executive chef and had worked for both The Broadmoor hotel and the Glen Eyrie Conference Center.

Bradley Nathan has joined Bank Central in Colorado Springs as a private banking specialist. He started his banking career in 1993 and has worked at seven other banks, most recently with Community Banks of Colorado and UMB Bank, both in Colorado Springs.

Dr. Erik Wallace and Jacob Pruitt have been appointed and Mia Ramirez has been reappointed as trustees of the Colorado Springs Health Foundation by the Colorado Springs City Council. Pruitt is vice president of T. Rowe Price in Colorado Springs, where he heads the company’s high net worth and donor advised funds operations. Wallace is associate dean of the Colorado Springs branch of the University of Colorado School of Medicine and faculty associate for the Center for Bioethics and Humanities. Ramirez is a community partner at The Colorado Trust.

Greg Welch has become chairman of the Police Foundation of Colorado Springs, replacing Kyle Hybl, who served in the post since the nonprofit organization was formed in 2010. Welch is regional president of Independent Financial, while Hybl is president and CEO of El Pomar Foundation.

Terrell Brown, Seth Harvey and Amber Ptak all have been named to the board of directors of the Downtown Partnership in Colorado Springs. Brown is CEO of the Hillside Connection. Harvey is CEO of BlueStaq and Ptak is CEO of the Pikes Peak Community Health Partnership. Davin Neubacher of Navakai is chair of the Downtown Partnership board and Warren Epstein of Pikes Peak Community College is vice chair.
