Christmas Eve house fire leaves 3 injured in Colorado Springs

Three people were burned — at least two severely — in a Christmas Eve fire at a residence on the property of an east Colorado Springs storage facility, authorities said.

Two adult were taken a Denver hospital, Colorado Springs Fire Department spokesman Mike Smaldino said.

Colorado Springs police reported a teen also was injured in the fire. Smaldino did not have information about the teen’s condition.

The fire at 4526 Oro Blanco Drive, near Austin Bluffs Parkway and Barnes Road, was reported just after 9 p.m. Thursday.

The fire appeared to be under control by 9:20 p.m., Gazette news partner KKTV reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
