No crying over spilled beer as semi crash closes I-70

Thursday’s wintry mix that’s unfolding in the mountains is causing travel chaos along I-70 in Colorado.

Heavy snow lead to closures on I-70 due to multiple crashes. According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, I-70 westbound is closed at Copper Mountain (mile marker 195).

Another crash at Vail Pass Summit (mile marker 195) sent cases of beer across the highway. Brown boxes stamped with a “Miller Lite” logo can be seen in pictures posted on the Colorado State Patrol Twitter page (@CSP_Eagle) and temporarily closed Vail Pass.

Highway 6 at Loveland Pass (between mile markers 220 and 229) is also closed due to adverse conditions.

To check the latest road reports and weather conditions, visit CDOT’s Facebook, Twitter (@coloradodot), or cotrip.org for closures and delays on highways and roads across Colorado.
