A 28-year-old man was arrested on Christmas for allegedly stabbing his roommate during an altercation at their east Colorado Springs home, according to police.

Gregory Kauppila was arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault near the home in the 3500 block of East La Salle Street, Colorado Springs police said.

Authorities were called to the residence about 2:20 a.m. 

The victim’s injuries were treated at a local hospital, police said.
