You’ll definitely see something that’s sure to shock you. Plus, it’s inside…so it’s warm! It also serves as a work space for the staff paleontologist. It drops its visitors 1,000 feet below ground. Ride the underground locomotive and see gold in its raw state before it’s extracted. The tour provides a complete Colorado mining experience! This destination near Colorado Springs is a great place to spend your time. There are a ton of antique games, some of which cost the original price. Made from wire, hubcaps, grills and thousands of beer cans, this unusual building sits on the north side of Antonito. Head to this destination to get up-close-and-personal with one of the world’s most infamous animals. It’s located near Divide. (The Gazette)The Blue Mesa Reservoir – This reservoir, which feeds into the Colorado River, is located near Gunnison and is Colorado’s largest body of water. Some of the stairways and parapets may be a bit too much for the height-challenged, but much of the castle is accessible to the novice and stands as a testament to one man’s vision and determination. Also there: Hiking, camping and fishing in the San Isabel National Forest. Location: On Colorado 165 between Rye and Wetmore. As an added bonus, you’ll officially be able to tell your friends you’ve been to the country’s largest hot spring pool.Visit South Park – Found roadside in Fairplay, Colorado, visiting the South Park sign is so easy that there’s no excuse not to stop there. Just make sure you don’t spend too long fighting over who gets to be Kenny.The Coors Brewery – While not a Colorado craft brewery, a visit here is actually quite interesting. Coors is home to the country’s largest single location brewery. Even if you don’t drink beer, learning how the process works is pretty neat. (Google Maps)
