Now that Gov. Jared Polis has been sworn in, his supporters are set to celebrate tonight at the sold-out Blue Sneaker Ball, a nod to the footwear Polis sported on the campaign trail.

Headlining the event: Pop singer and LGBTQ activist Cyndi Lauper, perhaps best known for her 1983 hits “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” and “Time After Time” from her debut studio album She’s So Unusual.

Denver-based R&B combo Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats will also perform at the ball.

Judging by her tweet late this morning, Lauper is jazzed to appear at tonight’s event, to be held at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science.

“I am watching a monumental moment in Colorado,” Lauper tweeted during Polis’ inaugural ceremony. “Gov. Elect Jared Polis is being sworn in as the first openly gay governor of Colorado. I am so proud to be performing at the party this evening. Here’s to a great new year! Xx”

Lauper is a self-proclaimed “unwavering advocate for equality,” having co-founded the True Colors Fund in 2008 to “bring an end to homelessness among lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth and create a world where all young people can be their true selves,” according to her website.

She has sold more than 50 million albums and won two Grammys, an Emmy and a Tony, her website states.

Rateliff and the Night Sweats, meanwhile, broke through in 2015 with the release of the album Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, featuring the hit single “S.O.B.”
