There are plenty of great ways for Colorado Springs residents to enjoy the holiday season. Here are our local favorites, which include some bonus selections if you’re up for a road trip.

The parade starts at 5:50 p.m. and runs through downtown Colorado Springs. (STACIE SCOTT)Performed by the Colorado Springs Philharmonic at the Pikes Peak Center, “Here Comes Santa Claus” features holiday favorites, a sing-along and a visit from Santa himself. The show runs December 15 with attendance free for kids ages 17 and under. Buy tickets at pikespeakcenter.com.From Nov. 23-25 the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, along with the Oklahoma City Ballet, will be performing five shows of Tchaikoavsky’s “The Nutcracker” at the Pikes Peak Center. Buy tickets at axs.com.At Santa’s Workshop you can go on rides, stop by the gift shop and even take pictures with Santa. The workshop is open 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. most days, but is typically closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.The Pikes Peak AdAmAn Club has been a Pikes Peak tradition since 1922. The group of mountaineers climb the east face of Pikes Peak and launch a fireworks display at the summit to usher in the New Year.
