Baked goods, crafts, and a variety of plants were items featured for sale at the Black Forest Festival by the Black Forest AARP Chapter 1100.

All proceeds from these sales will help purchase new equipment for Hope Restored, a group of volunteers who help remove still standing and burnt trees from Black Forest residents’ property.

The chapter also passed out free cold water, plastic bags and literature to many festival-goers.

The baked goods and craftwork was made and donated by the members of AARP Chapter 1100, who also staffed the booth at the festival.

Some of the members also provided house and yard plants, which they nurtured in their own households.

The involvement in the Black Forest Festival by Chapter 1100 typifies the group’s motto, “To serve, not be served.”
