David Toms captures U.S. Senior Open by narrow margin; Broadmoor will host again in 2025

David Toms outlasted a crowded leaderboard to win the U.S. Senior Open at The Broadmoor on Sunday.
Toms birdied No. 16 to break a five-way tie, then parred out to win the championship at 3-under par 277.
Jerry Kelly, Tim Petrovic and Miguel Angel Jimenez tied for second at 2-under.
Kelly, who held leads after the first, second and third rounds played out of the rough on No. 18 and hit his second shot just short of the green. His putt came up about two short, allowing Toms, who had stuck his second shot to about 15 feet, calmly two-putted for victory.
The tournament drew 130,000 this week at the East Course, the largest for a Senior Open since 2013 in Omaha, Neb.
Toms has won in Colorado before, capturing The International at Castle Pines on the PGA Tour in 1999.
The United States Golf Association has also announced that the U.S. Senior Open will return to the Broadmoor in 2025.
