Colorado Springs marchers joined a nationwide protest of gun violence in the wake of the Parkland, Fla., school shooting last month.
The March For Our Lives Colorado Springs protest began at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Acacia Park, according to organizers.
Following speakers, marchers left the park at 12:30 p.m., headed north on Nevada Avenue, turned west on Boulder Street, and returedn to the park on Tejon Street. U.S. Rep. Jared Polis who, is seeking the Democratic nomination to run for governor in November, delivered closing remarks.
The Colorado Springs march is one of more than 800 scheduled marches across the country Saturday in response to the killing of 17 students and staff by a former student armed with a semi-automatic assault-style rifle.
