Bring back the Mile High Stadium name, says former Denver Mayor Wellington Webb
Former Denver Mayor Wellington Webb says the Denver Broncos should sell the football stadium naming rights to fans and call it Mile High Stadium at Pat Bowlen Field.
Webb presented his idea to reporters Tuesday. He said he didn’t want to send a letter to the Broncos outlining his idea only to have it “be tossed.” He said he wanted to take his idea right to fans, via the media.
The stadium still is officially named Sports Authority Field at Mile High, even though the Sports Authority chain no longer exists following a bankruptcy. The Broncos’ previous stadium, which the team vacated in 2000, was called Mile High Stadium.
