Mason Norman, The Classical Academy, Sophomore

Norman won the 3A boys’ race in 15 minutes, 56.7 seconds, the fastest time of any area runner. The sophomore had nearly six seconds before second place finished. The Classical Academy won the team title behind Norman’s win.

Cal Banta, Air Academy, Junior

Banta helped the Kadets round out the top five in the boys’ 4A race. The junior crossed in 15:58.7, taking third at state and was the first area finisher in the race.

Ryan Matson, Palmer Ridge, Senior

Matson’s 15:59.2 was good for fifth in the 4A race and helped Palmer Ridge capture the team title, beating Centaurus by 23 points.

Thomas Chaston, Cheyenne Mountain, Senior

Chaston led the Indians with a seventh-place finish in the 4A meet, finishing in 16:02.1. The senior’s final prep race helped Cheyenne Mountain finish seventh in the team standings.

Connor McCabe, Rampart, Senior

McCabe, the top area finisher in the 5A race, took 11th in 16:04.4, helping the Rams finish third in the team standings. McCabe was also the 5A Colorado Springs Metro League champion.
