Man dies after fall from Boulder’s First Flatiron
An 18-year-old man died after falling from the First Flatiron on Sunday evening while climbing the rock formation by himself, Boulder County sheriff’s officials said.
The man — whose identity has not yet been released — was found by a hiker near the base of the First Flatiron, above the Blue Bell Shelter in Chautauqua Park, according to a news release from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.
Rescue personnel located the man near the bottom of the First Flatiron, and found him unconscious without a pulse and not breathing. Despite attempts at medical treatment, he was declared dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.
