City of Colorado Springs CFO leaving at end of May
Chief Financial Officer Kara Skinner is leaving the Colorado Springs staff at the end of May after 11 years with the city.
Skinner, a key member of the administration, “is an extremely intelligent, credible and respected individual,” Mayor John Suthers said in a statement. “Kara has consistently led the city through complex budgeting challenges and has done so with a sophisticated and professional approach. We wish Kara and her family only the best in their move.”
Skinner said she and her family are moving to Boulder, where she will work as assistant to that city’s chief financial officer.
Colorado Springs will begin recruiting immediately for her replacement, with Budget Manager Charae McDaniel to serve as interim budget director and the city Police Department’s Nancy McCauley to act as interim finance director until a new CFO is hired.
