Broncos CB Aqib Talib won’t face discipline for shooting as NFL closes investigation
Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib will not face discipline in the form of a fine or suspension from the NFL for his actions in a shooting in June 2016, per two NFL sources. The 10-month investigation by the NFL has been closed, the sources said.
Talib must complete a firearms safety course and also submit a list of all firearms he owns to NFL security, according to NFL vice president of communications Brian McCarthy.
In October, Dallas police ruled Talib shot himself on June 5 while standing in a park in Dallas. Earlier, Talib had told investigators he was “too intoxicated to remember” what happened regarding the shooting. Talib wasn’t charged with a crime and he did not miss any regular season action due to the gunshot wound in his lower right leg. He did not need surgery.
