Pie-O-My, pizza maker freed from clutches of dough roller

Colorado Springs firefighters deserve a high five for freeing a local man’s hand from a dough-rolling machine.

The 21-year-old worker was cleaning the contraption at a south Colorado Springs pizza shop when he got his paw stuck.

It was crammed in deep, 2 to 3 inches past the knuckle, reports Fire Capt. Steve Wilch, spokesman for the department.

Firefighters were only too happy to lend him a hand.

“He was in pain and very thankful we were able to disassemble the machine and move the pressure off his fingers,” Wilch said.

Once the ensnarled mitt was freed, the unidentified man was taken to a hospital for X-rays, Wilch said.

The machine was unharmed. “It rolls dough into a nice flat pizza,” Wilch said.
