Driver crashes Camaro, flees, leaves pinned passenger
A driver ran away from a single-vehicle crash in Weld County early Friday morning, leaving behind an injured passenger pinned in the wreckage.
At about 12:45 a.m. Friday, a deputy with the Weld County Sheriff’s Office spotted a black Chevrolet Camaro heading south on County Road 19, near County Road 28, speeding in excess of 130 mph, according to a sheriff’s office media release.
At about 12:50 a.m. deputies found the Camaro, crashed at the intersection of County Road 23 and County Road 18.
“A male passenger was pinned inside the vehicle and (a) female passenger was located standing outside the vehicle,” the sheriff’s office said. The driver had fled the scene on foot.
