Lewis-Palmer 162, Cheyenne Mountain 153

At Cheyenne Mountain: Meredith Rees took first in the 200-yard freestyle and 100 freestyle and also helped Lewis-Palmer’s relay squads in the 200 and 400 freestyle races to victory Wednesday.

The Indians started the day with a four-second win in the 200 individual medley relay with the team of Harper Lehman, Alexis Duncan, Sophia Bricker and Maggie York. Later, York (50 freestyle), Lehman (100 backstroke) and Bricker (100 breaststroke) earned individual victories for Cheyenne Mountain.

Discovery Canyon 108, Manitou Springs 60

At Liberty: Ava Giesbrecht took first in the 200 and 500 freestyle races, and teammate Brianna Ridings claimed titles in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke as Discovery Canyon downed Manitou Springs.

Manitou Springs claimed first in all three relays, and Emily Dolloff-Holt touched first in the 200 individual medley and 100 freestyle to help the Mustangs’ cause.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Palmer Ridge 48, Lewis-Palmer 41, OT

At Lewis-Palmer: Sydney Day scored 10 of her career-high 12 points in a frantic fourth quarter, Sam Rippley tied the game with a pair of free throws with 3.7 seconds left in regulation, and Palmer Ridge (10-6, 4-3 5A/4A Pikes Peak Athletic Conference) remained perfect in 11 games against rival Lewis-Palmer (8-8, 2-5).

Earlier in the quarter, Rippley, a four-year starter, scored her 1,000th career point.

Jasmine Sanders’ 3-pointer with 1:30 left in overtime gave the Bears their first lead at 44-41.

Kaity Hovasse and Carlie Schafer each scored 11 points for Lewis-Palmer.

Air Academy 39, Cheyenne Mountain 19

At Air Academy: Katelin Gallegos and Mary Parchinski scored nine points apiece, and Air Academy’s defense held an opponent to fewer than 20 points for the fourth time as the Kadets (14-2, 7-0 PPAC) ran their winning streak to 13 games.

Sand Creek 62, Vista Ridge 51

At Vista Ridge: Jalen Davis led four scorers in double figures as Sand Creek (6-9, 2-5 PPAC) dominated the first half in a rivalry game against Vista Ridge (3-12, 1-6). Darian Taylor led the Wolves with 14 points.

St. Mary’s 68, Florence 45

At St. Mary’s: Makenna Bodette scored a team-high 16 points as Pikes Peak 3A and Below No. 1 St. Mary’s (12-0, 6-0 3A Tri-Peaks) stayed perfect on the season and sent Florence (7-4, 3-1) to its first league loss. Olivia Florek added 11 points and, with three 3-pointers, moved into seventh place all time in 3-pointers made in state history.

At Falcon: Discovery Canyon (9-6, 5-1 PPAC) won its sixth in a row.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Lewis-Palmer 53, Palmer Ridge 51

At Lewis-Palmer: Billy Cook had a game-high 16 points as Lewis-Palmer (11-4, 5-2 PPAC) held off crosstown rival Palmer Ridge (8-8, 2-5) for its seventh straight win.

Falcon 51, Discovery Canyon 48

At Discovery Canyon: Falcon (7-8, 2-4 PPAC) used a 13-7 run in the fourth quarter to rally past Discovery Canyon (5-10, 2-5).
