DUI distracted driver who killed couple on motorcycle gets 20 years in prison
A woman who was driving drunk and texting on her phone when she hit and killed a couple on a motorcycle was sentenced on Friday to 20 years in prison.
Athina Munoz, 28, also tested above the legal limit for marijuana after the Feb. 27, 2016, crash that killed Brian Lehner, 58, and Jacquie Lehner, 56, of Parker, according to a Douglas County District Attorney’s news release.
Munoz was sentenced by Douglas District Court Judge Shay Whitaker to 10 years each on two counts of vehicular homicide-DUI, according to prosecutors.
