Graduates of the Rocky Mountain Lineman School held an unusual graduation ceremony Friday, April 29, 2016, giving a 2-hour demonstration of their skills before commencement at their Pikes Peak Community College campus. The 24 graduates demonstrated “hurt man rescue,” “cross arm changeout” and “transformer changeout” techniques. Woodland Park High School Assistant Principal and Athletic Director Michael DeWall arrived at his office Thursday morning, May 12, 2016, to find it filled with shredded paper and sticky notes. Seniors were allowed into the school overnight Wednesday night to pull off a number of senior pranks. City of Colorado Springs employee Jeremy Kizewski was busy Wednesday, October 26, 2016 helping with the big job of blowing fallen leaves from the heavily tree-lined streets of Evergreen Cemetery. The leaves were blown onto grassy areas of the cemetery where they will be picked up and mulched by a crew from Brightview Landscaping. Andre Perkins with Brightview said that during the growing months it takes a crew of nine to mow and trim weekly around the nearly 100,000 headstones in the cemetery. Photo by Mark Reis, The Gazette

The moon won’t be this close to the earth again until 2034. The moon’s orbit around Earth is slightly elliptical so sometimes it is closer and sometimes it’s farther away.
