Doughnut shop frequented by fallen trooper donating Saturday’s profits to his kids
Lora’s Donuts and Bakery Shop is honoring fallen trooper and former regular Cody James Donahue by donating 100 percent of its profits Saturday to his two young daughters, aged 7 and 10.
Donahue, 34, was struck and killed by a U.S. Foods commercial truck driver in November on Interstate 25 south of Castle Rock. The 41-year-old driver, Noe Gamez-Ruiz, has been charged with careless driving resulting in death, a Class 1 misdemeanor, and failure to yield the right-of-way to an emergency vehicle in the crash
The 11-year-veteran of the Colorado State Patrol was described in his obituary as hard working, kind and “so honest he even gave his own wife a ticket.”
