Top prospect Jeff Hoffman to make Rockies pitching debut against Cubs
Right-hander Jeff Hoffman, the Colorado Rockies’ top pitching prospect, is scheduled to make his major-league debut Saturday night against the Chicago Cubs, a major league source confirmed.
Hoffman, 23, the centerpiece of last summer’s trade that sent shortstop Troy Tulowitzki to Toronto, has been pitching for Triple A Albuquerque.
The Rockies have not officially announced the Hoffman’s promotion and a corresponding roster move also has not yet been announced.
