Bennet-Glenn campaigns reveal a David and Goliath funding disparity

El Paso County Commissioner Darryl Glenn is a financial underdog in this year’s race for U.S. Senate.

U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet’s campaign released his second quarter campaign finance numbers Monday, saying the incumbent Democrat will have about $6 million going into the third quarter.

Bennet raised $2.7 million between April 1 and June 30.

He spent $3.54 million through June 8, according to a pre-primary report filed with the Federal Election Commission.

Bennet’s resources vastly outweigh those of his opponent.

Glenn has not released his second quarter numbers. The report isn’t due to the FEC until Friday. Bennet’s campaign released its numbers early but won’t release the full report until it is filed Friday.

Glenn had $50,198 cash as of June 8, and reported about $50,000 in donations from last-minute donors in the days leading up to the primary.
