Denver Broncos submit new contract offer to Von Miller
Deadlines spur action, and with a week remaining until required resolution, the Broncos submitted an updated contract proposal to outside linebacker Von Miller on Thursday. They are attempting to bridge the gap in guaranteed money. General manager John Elway spoke with Miller’s agent Joby Branion, according to an NFL source. Elway is expected continue talks with Branion as the sides try to reach an agreement before the 2 p.m. deadline on July 15.
The Broncos placed the exclusive franchise tag on Miller in March, preventing other teams from negotiating with the Super Bowl 50 MVP. It guarantees Miller approximately $14.1 million for one season, but he has yet to sign it and he skipped offseason workouts to gain leverage in facilitating a long-term deal.
