2017 Jaguar XE : A new benchmark for sports sedans

Jaguar has always been a captivating car manufacturer across the globe with masterpieces like the F-Type and its ability to dazzle in different segments. The newest work of art, the 2017 Jaguar XE, romanticizes small sport-luxury sedans.

Establishing new standards in appeal, along with a wide range of state-of-the art technology, the XE embodies sharp responses, smooth performance, and remarkable good looks.

“This is definitely the frontrunner for this segment,” Samuel Johnson, sales consultant at Red Noland Jaguar said.  “It’s very comparable to its big brother the XF, with just a bit smaller cargo capacity.”

The light, stiff, Advanced Aluminum Architecture, combined with advanced suspension and efficient engines delivers grace on the road that unquestionably puts it at the head of its class.

Three engines will be offered, the 25t test drive, with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, the 20d generating 180-horsepower from a 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel four-cylinder, and the 35t, equipped with the F-Type’s supercharged 3.0-liter V6 with an incredible 340-horsepower.

Developed to meet U.S. emission standards, diesel is a new course for Jaguar, called “Ingenium.” Choosing all-wheel drive (AWD) increases the appeal of the XE appeal making it a true all-weather sports sedan.

The well-appointed cabin implements an innovative semicircular design sweeping from the door on one side around to the other door. The “Riva Hoop” efficiently links the main fascia with the rest of the cabin. Fine-grain leathers and twin-needle stitching give the cabin a rich and luxury touch. Leg and headroom is comfortable featuring elegantly woven corners and angles into a very welcoming and plush cabin.

Buyers can choose from increasingly rich levels of leather and inserts of gloss black, textured aluminum or sleek wood veneers. Embracing the quality of materials and exceptional fit and finish found on the rest of this family, the XE doesn’t disappoint.

The XE’s InControl infotainment system is centered on a touchscreen, delivering quick and easy access to all features and functions. With voice control capabilities, drivers don’t have to worry about taking their eyes off the road.

Offering Wi-Fi connectivity for multiple devices, and allowing iOS and Android smartphone users to connect from anywhere in the world, buyers can execute a variety of functions from their smartphone, such as unlocking the car, starting the engine or managing climate control. It’s also capable of access the driver’s smartphone apps via the touchscreen.

The XE’s tech also includes a laser head-up display (HUD), projecting sharp, high-contrast color images onto the windshield, which can provide information such as current speed or navigation instructions.

Of course the 2017 Jaguar XE offers an array of safety features and driver aids including adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, semi-automated parking assist, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision alert and autonomous emergency braking.

A state-of-the-art camera is the power behind the XE’s Autonomous Emergency Braking, Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW) as well as the new Adaptive Speed Limiter (ASL).  All Surface Progress Control works at low speeds (up to 20 mph) and regulates acceleration and braking to maintain traction in slippery conditions.

The ground-breaking 2017 Jaguar XE is a game changer in the world of luxury sport sedans.  Once you drive it, you’ll forget there was ever anything else.

“The XE is the new benchmark for this segment,” Johnson said.  “Because of solid driving, better suspension, better looks, and advanced tech, it sets the new standard.”
