Athlon Sports is out with its annual college football preview. The magazine predicts Air Force’s football team will win 10 games, lose two, play in the Hawaii Bowl  and finish second behind Boise State in the Mountain West’s Mountain Division.

But here’s where the predicting gets interesting: Athlon places Air Force as the No. 51 team in the country for the 2016 season. That’s with a 10-2 record. The magazine predicts Brigham Young will finish with a 6-6 record, but Athlon places BYU as the No. 46 team of 2016.

This is a comment, a strong one, on the quality of the Mountain West and the quality of Air Force’s non-conference schedule.
