Protester pranks Trump with Nazi golf balls in Scotland
AYR, Scotland — At the front of the crowd for Donald Trump’s speech Friday to officially open his golf resort here was a man in a Trump Turnberry half-zippered sweater, handing out souvenir golf balls.
That act itself might not seem out of the ordinary, but the man was comedian Lee Nelson and the golf balls were miniature versions of Nazi Germany’s flag, red with a white circle surrounding a swastika.
“These are the new balls available from the clubhouse as part of the new Trump Turnberry range. I forgot to hand them out before,” Nelson said. “I’m very sorry, Mr. Trump. And thank you. I apologize.”
The presumptive GOP U.S. presidential nominee was not amused and could be heard telling his security guards to “get him out,” as Nelson, whose real name is Simon Brodkin, attempted to speak further to the crowd.
