Rick’s Garden Center: A one-stop location for your whole garden
Avid gardener or novice cultivator, sprucing up your own little piece of earth is a rewarding way to celebrate these longer and warmer days.
Happily bidding farewell to the dull greys and browns of the cold weather season, Ricks Garden Center has a bounty of colorful buds and blooms ready to transform your landscape. And, it’s not necessary to spend big bucks on plants and trees, tools, containers or supplies – Rick’s can help put an impressive garden well within your reach, at an affordable price
“Often people have the idea that purchasing from an independent garden center is going to be too expensive,” Mike Estes, owner of Rick’s Garden Center said. “But we have such an extensive selection and variety of materials to choose from, we are able to make your budget work.”
A one-stop source for all of your gardening needs, Rick’s customers can find expert assistance for most of their outdoor projects from attractive hardscapes, to landscape design, irrigation systems, annuals perennials, trees and shrubs and more.
“We are very well-rounded,” Estes said. “Not only are we a full service garden center, but we also stock all the tools, insecticides, sprinklers and irrigation gear, seeds, and supplies you need for your garden. We even rent power equipment such as augers, rototillers, and aerators.”
Everything from the traditional to the exotic, whether you are looking for one plant or a thousand, vegetables, herbs, trees, shrubs or flowers, the family owned business is the place to go. Along with providing only the best quality plants and products, Rick’s Garden Center offers the tools and expert knowledge necessary to insure your gardening success.
“We really enjoy answering our customer’s gardening questions,” said Estes. “In fact, we’ve had referrals from local box stores telling their customers to come talk to us for help solving their challenges.”
Along with a broad range of pesticides, insecticides and fertilizers, Rick’s has a robust roster of organic gardening materials.
“More than ever people are looking for organic materials,” Estes said. “It’s very important to them not use any chemicals in their gardens and landscapes, and they only want non-gmo seeds so we work hard to make that happen.”
According to customers, one of the best things about Rick’s is the amazing and comprehensive selection they have available year after year.
“A lot of times the big box stores concentrate on stocking an abundance of their bestselling items and don’t offer much variety,” Estes said. “We have a very broad range of products and choices, including the most popular items.
In addition, the big chain home improvement stores stock a limited amount of each product and when it’s gone, it’s gone. Rick’s has developed a steady distribution schedule and they are able to restock items within a couple of days.
“To me, the best thing about this business is family,” said Estes. “My wife, Gail and I bought the business from the original Richner family in the spring of 1985. Our youngest son Scott has worked here since he just a young kid, and he still does. Between the three of us we’ve tried for over 30 years to continue the legacy of excellent customer service established by Rick & Jackie back in 1948.”
