Junior Achievement of Southern Colorado is teaming up with the Pikes Peak Library District to bring financial awareness to the public for Money Smart Week, April 23-30.

The campaign is designed to educate consumers of all ages about personal finance management.

“We are very excited to partner with the Pikes Peak Library District by providing financial literacy materials to the entire Pikes Peak region,” said Carrie McKee, Junior Achievement of Southern Colorado president. “It is important, for our youth to learn about managing their finances, being a smart consumer, and making informed financial decisions. It is also important that this same financial information is made available to our community.”

Money Smart Week is a collaboration and coordinated effort of local partners that come together to stress the importance of financial literacy, offer resources for consumers, and provide free educational seminars and activities. Programming is offered to all demographics and covers all facets of personal finance, from establishing a budget to first-time home buying and estate planning.

Money Smart Week exhibits and free workshops will be available at 10 Pikes Peak Library District locations. There will be financial literacy resources highlighting money smart decision-making available to teens and adults. Junior Achievement of Southern Colorado, Inc. is a nonprofit dedicated to inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy. Last year, Junior Achievement reached 28,000 students in southern Colorado with programs focused on financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship through experiential learning. Junior Achievement partners with over 1,200 business and community volunteers to deliver the programs in the classroom.
