Permit approved for 20,000-person Buena Vista music festival
After weeks of deliberation, the special events permit for Madison House Presents’ proposed 20,000-person musical festival in Buena Vista was approved this morning.
The festival is set for August 4-7 on a 274-acre ranch near the Arkansas River.
After hearing from local residents near the festival grounds, the Chaffee County Board of Commissioners shaved an hour off the planned closing time, asking organizers to wrap the event at 1:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights and midnight on Thursday and Sunday nights.
Mumford and Sons-spearheaded Gentlemen of the Road tour stopped in Salida last year, giving Madison House Presents a precedent for throwing a successful large-scale music event in Chaffee county.
