Sports Authority to close some stores in Colorado
Sports Authority is planning store closing sales for its Sports Castle in downtown Denver and at least two other locations in the region as part of plans to shutter about 140 stores, a source familiar with the company’s plans confirmed Wednesday.
Sports Authority plans to close its locations at 1000 Broadway, 9000 E. Peakview Ave., in Greenwood Village, and the S.A. Elite store at the Twenty Ninth Street mall in Boulder, the source said.
It was unknown how many other locations in Colorado would be targeted for closure. Earlier Wednesday, CBSDFW in Dallasreported that employees across the Metroplex there said they were told that Sports Authority would close all 22 of its stores in Texas.
