Royals’ vs. Broncos’ victory parades: Which one was bigger?
Broncos fans gathered for their Super Bowl victory celebration Tuesday in Denver, but would it turn out to be an orange-tinted copy of what Kansas City saw last November when the Royals held their World Series parade and rally?
Certainly you must remember that glorious day — heck, you were probably one of the estimated 800,000 Royals fans who filled the streets, turning the area around Union Station into a mass of blue. Cell phone signals were disrupted, drivers looking for parking spaces abandoned cars on the side of highways and foot traffic along the parade route was nearly impossible.
