Former Aspen postal employee sentenced for taking gun to work

A formal U.S. Post Office worker who brought a gun, bullet cartridges and knives to work was sentenced Monday to time already served in jail.

Mauro Emilio Pennini had been charged with violating a protection order by being in possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm at a federal facility.

He pleaded guilty to violating a protection order. U.S. District Court Chief Judge Marcia Krieger sentenced Pennini to the more than six months he has already served in pre-sentence confinement.
