Fire officials: Smoke plume northwest of Monument possible structure fire
A black smoke plume that briefly rose northwest of Monument on Sunday afternoon is likely not a forest fire, according to the Tri-Lakes Monument Fire Department.
Douglas County fire crews determined that it could have been coming from a structure fire in the Pike National Forest, according to police scanner reports.
Local fire crews, from El Paso County and Tri-Lakes, are not responding to the fire. Larkspur crews have been sent to investigate.
