It was a perfect opportunity to sample good wines in preparation for holiday season choices.
As guests circled the tables at Norris-Penrose Events Center, there were calls to “try that Freemark Abbey Cabernet Sauvignon on 7” and “check the smoky spice in The Paring Red on 12.”
Sovereignty Wines and its distributors were pouring for the Teen Court Wine Tasting and Gourmet Food fundraising gala in November.
There were also samples of champagne, beer and single barrel rye whiskey. Add to that plates of food from Summit Catering.
It was all to support Colorado Springs Teen Court, “Restorative Justice for Teens by Teens,” through which trained high school volunteers work hundreds of young people through the misdemeanor criminal justice system to not become repeat offenders.
Event sponsors were Sherman & Howard LLC, McNulty Jewelers, Colorado Technical University, King’s Chef Diner, El Pomar Foundation, David J. Johnson and Penrose-St. Francis Health Services.
