Colorado Springs police will close several roads intermittently on Friday afternoon for the funeral procession for Officer Garrett Swasey, who was killed Nov. 27 in a shooting at Planned Parenthood.

The funeral for Swasey, the 44-year-old University of Colorado at Colorado Springs police officer, is at New Life Church, 11025 Voyager Parkway, at 1 p.m.

The procession will stretch for 5 miles from New Life Church to Evergreen Cemetery, beginning after the funeral at about 2:30 p.m. Friday. It is expected to take two hours; anyone who wants to drive in procession is welcome.

The procession’s main route will follow Interstate 25 and pass by UCCS on the way to the cemetery.

The church, which can accommodate 5,000 people, has been the site of previous services for police and law enforcement officials, New Life Pastor Brady Boyd said Tuesday. The last time New Life hosted a service for a law enforcement official was in March 2013, after Tom Clements, the head of the Colorado Department of Corrections, was killed in his Monument home. Gov. John Hickenlooper also attended that service.

A visitation and a funeral for the other two shooting victims, Ke’Arre Stewart and Jennifer Markovsky, also were scheduled and open to the public.

Stewart’s visitation was Thursday at Angelus Chapel, 1104 S. Circle Drive. Stewart, 29, will be buried in Waco, Texas, where he was born.

A funeral for Markovsky, 35, is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Theophany Orthodox Church, 2770 N. Chestnut St.
