For those far from family or who’ve lost close friends around the holidays, it can be a difficult season. For these, the American Cancer Society’s “Love Lights A Tree” activity aims to be a beacon of hope. Through the holidays at The Broadmoor, just outside of Broadmoor West, a large tree will stand illuminated in honor and remembrance of loved ones.
“’Love Lights A Tree’ is a wonderful way to remember someone special with a unique gift and support the American Cancer Society in its mission to eliminate cancer,” said Mandi Dillon, American Cancer Society community manager, Relay For Life.
For a suggested donation of $10, anyone can reserve a light on the tree and have an acknowledgement card sent to the friend or family member. The “Love Lights A Tree” book, housed at Broadmoor West, will also feature names of honorees. Reserve a light online at lovelightsatree.org or by calling 719-630-4961 through December 17.
Funds raised from “Love Lights A Tree” will benefit the Society’s work to help prevent cancer and find it early, as well as conduct cancer research.
