New officers appointed to the Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors

The Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center, serving local businesses and thousands of visitors each year, is managed by a board of directors.
Three new members of the Board of Directors for the Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce were appointed at the recent Board of Directors meeting at 166 Second Street in Monument.
Rich Schur has been involved with board service for more than 20 years, including both community and trade-based organizations.
Rich said what the chamber does directly affects his business and community, and he feels the best way to have impact is to be involved.
Rich served on the Board of Directors of the National Auctioneer’s Association and is a past president of the Colorado Auctioneers Association. Rich served on the board of the Youth Transformation Center, the Society for Human Resource Management, and the American Society of Training and Development, along with several others over his 30-year career.
He has a Master of Science in Adult Continuing Education and a B.S. in Workforce Education. Rich travels the country teaching people about auctions and appraisals.
Larry Holt is the Sales Manager of Autosearch USA in Colorado Springs. He has extensive financial, management, community relations and customer service experience.
Larry wrote in his application: “I enjoy serving and supporting local businesses in the Tri-Lakes region.”
He has served on the Bangladesh Christian Mission Board of Directors since 1989 and has been Chairman of the Board for many years.
Larry was born and raised near Cleveland. A retired United States Air Force veteran, he served his customers as a financial advisor for five years. Prior to that, he worked at Focus on the Family for 15 years as a project manager, an automotive salesman for a Saturn dealership, and as a sales retention specialist for a local telecommunications company.
He recently served as an Ambassador to the Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce and also has served as an Ambassador to the Colorado Springs Regional Business Alliance.
Matt Barrett is a Partner with Business Truths Consulting. He specializes in public speaking, special events, education, training, management, marketing, community and public relations, and strategic planning.
Recently the CEO of the BBB of Southern Colorado, Barrett also worked with Graham Advertising, Windstar Studios and Media America. He is a former Executive Director of the UCCS – Small Business Development Center.
He has served on numerous professional boards and committees with the Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado and is presently serving on the Board of Advisors for Northstar Bank of Colorado. He has also worked with Colorado Springs EDC / Business Alliance, Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce, Rising Professionals, Colorado Springs Small Business Development, and D-49 Banning Lewis Ranch Academy.
The mission of The Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce is to provide leadership to support, improve, and promote existing and new business. The Chamber provides services, information and programs that enable member businesses and the community to be successful.
The Tri-Lakes Chamber is involved with and plans community events – including the Fourth of July Street Fair, Labor Day Festival and Bines & Brew Hopfest – that celebrate the character of the Tri-Lakes area and enhance the quality of life of its members and residents.
