Salvation Army seeks desserts for holiday meals in Pikes Peak region
The Salvation Army is in need of pies and other desserts in preparation for its annual holiday meals.
The organization is asking that people bring those items to 908 Yuma St. between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.
The Salvation Army hosts Thanksgiving and Christmas meals at 5725 Southmoor Drive in Fountain, 606 Manitou Ave. in Manitou Springs and at 908 Yuma St.
Thousands of people are expected to be served, said Jeane Turner, a spokeswoman for the Salvation Army.
Other food donations, including turkeys and hams, are welcome and can be brought to the Yuma Street location, she said.
