‘SNL’ opens with touching message for Paris
Saturday Night Live didn’t open with a host monologue, nor did it begin with a 2016 election cold open. This weekend, the show started with a single shot of cast member Cecily Strong onstage to deliver a touching message to those in Paris:
“Paris is the City of Light, and here in New York City, we know that light will never go out. Our love and support is with everyone there tonight. We stand with you,” she said.
Then, she delivered the same message in French.
“And now, live from New York, it’s Saturday night.”
