TOP MARINERS PROSPECTS

Patrick Kivlehan, 3B/1B: The late bloomer – he played Big East football until his senior year of college – makes the 25-year-old older than some prospects but the No. 6 prospect in the organization has caught up thanks to smoothing some rough edges at the plate. The 6-foot-2, 215-pounder has 17 home runs, 16 doubles and 61 RBIs in 102 PCL games.

John Hicks, C: The Mariners’ No. 23 prospect has come down to earth after an explosive performance in the Arizona Fall league that garnered him a spot on the Mariners’ 40-man roster and in Triple-A. The defensive-minded catcher has 34 RBIs in 77 PCL games, including 14 doubles.

Mayckol Guaipe, RHP: The reliever’s nine-year stint in the Mariners organization paid off with his first MLB appearance in June (0-3, 12 innings). The No. 28 prospect is 0-4 in 41 2/3 innings (though Tuesday) with a 3.02 ERA and five saves.

Jose A. Ramirez, RHP: The hard-throwing reliever joined the organization and became its No. 29 prospect as part of a trade for Dustin Ackley with the Yankees in July. His fastball hits 95 mph regularly and sometimes triple digits during his three MLB appearances this summer.
