Will Pikes Peak ever serve as USA PRO Challenge finish line? (Probably not)

What about using the summit of Pikes Peak as a finish line for a stage of the USA Pro Challenge?
“To me, that would be ideal,” says Tom Osborne, CEO of the Colorado Springs Sports Corp.
But, alas, not everyone agrees.
“With the European riders, it would quite the challenge,” Osborne says. “I’m not sure if the riders would like, but we sure would like it.”
Osborne says he has proposed a Pikes Peak finish line to Shawn Hunter, CEO of the Pro Challenge. Hunter is enthusiastic, but concerned about complications.
“Logistically there are huge challenges to it,” Osborne says. One of the challenges would be providing a suitable internet connection that would allow a live TV broadcast of the event.
Hunter would love to see a Pikes Peak finish line.
“That idea would certainly rank at the top as a fan favorite,” Hunter says.
But details, he says, make a finish atop America’s Mountain an unlikely reality.
